City Break Lisbon

City Break Lisbon

per person

Organise your visit to the Portuguese Capital, Lisbon, by combining different ways of getting to know the city and surrounding cities.

Romantic Lisbon

Park and National Palace of Pena

Located in the Sintra hills, the Park and Palace of Pena are the fruit of King Ferdinand II’s creative genius and the greatest expression of 19th-century romanticism in Portugal, denoting clear influences from the Manueline and Moorish styles of architecture. The palace was built in such a way as to be visible from any point in the park, which consists of a forest and luxuriant gardens with over five hundred different species of trees originating from the four corners of the earth.

Park and Palace of Monserrate

Not very far from the historic centre of Sintra is one of the most beautiful architectural and landscape Romantic creations in Portugal: the Park and Palace of Monserrate, unique representatives of 19th century eclecticism. The Palace combines gothic and Indian influences as well as Moorish suggestions together with exotic and plant motifs which are harmoniously extended to the exterior. The gardens have received species from all corners of the world, which were planted according to their geographical origin. The front lawn of the Palace provides a well-deserved rest, while discovering one of the richest Portuguese botanical gardens.

Convent of Capuchos

A Franciscan convent built in direct contact with nature and in keeping with a philosophy of extreme architectural and decorative simplicity. The Capuchos Convent is extremely small in size, being notable for the great poverty of its construction. It is also known as the “Cork convent” because of the extensive use of cork in the protection and decoration of its tiny spaces. Its rustic appearance and great austerity are indissociable from the surrounding vegetation, since the building is completely integrated into the natural environment, to the extent that enormous granite boulders have been incorporated into its construction.

Quinta da Regaleira

The Quinta da Regaleira may be visited according to various programmes (see conditions of access). This includes access to gardens and museum exhibits, as well as participation in leisure and cultural activities on day of visit. Self-guided tours are available, with the aid of plans and guides, which enable the visitor to discover the magical gardens, mysterious subterranean passageways, and the palace, chapel, towers and wells that make up the varied scenarios and enigmatic symbolism contained within their exuberant surroundings.
