Fishing in the River Côa

Fishing in the River Côa

per person

A few minutes from Sabugal, we are driven through peaceful roads of natural landscapes. When we sight the destination, in the middle of a very dense forest, we see a trout farm. Lunch in a local restaurant
A family-run restaurant with good cuisine. Known for its different ways of cooking trout, we are surprised by the flavours that emanate from this kitchen, which accompany the natural landscape surrounding the restaurant very well. The restaurant allows you to cook your own trout or take it away for another meal.

Borderlands Swing
On your way back we recommend you visit the Baloiço Raiano [Raiano Swing], located in Aldeia Velha. A swing in the shape of a forcão [wooden barrier made of tree trunks used in bull taming] located in the ruins of Sabugal Velho, next to the chapel of Nossa Senhora dos Prazeres, which offers a panoramic view over Aldeia Velha and other nearby villages. The forcão is a tool that belongs to a tradition of the territory, the lands of the Forcão and the Capeia Arraiana ["taming" the bull using the forcão], to which Aldeia Velha belongs. The landscape, the silence of the wind, the serenity, make this a relaxing experience.
